With the pandemic forcing people to stay at home more than before, more are becoming disenchanted with the monochrome palette of a white kitchen. We are seeing the kitchen design trend move to focusing on bringing more color into the space. Here are some ways we are seeing people express color:
1. Blue & Grey Color
All blue and grey cabinets are becoming the neutral palette once given to white. You can bring further pops of color with a colorful backsplash, interesting accents, or upholstered chairs (if you have an island).
2. Bright Color Cabinets
An increasing number of people are going for bright, colorful cabinets, such as a bright green or yellow. If the bright color is too overwhelming you can subdue it with darker color cabinets as this person did.
3. Colorful Appliances
Appliances bold colors are becoming more popular. The red stove and range shown here is the Zline brand sold by Lowes. Blue, green, yellow are also popular colors.

4. Contrasting Islands
Another option if you don’t have the money to reface your entire kitchen and you have an island, bring a burst of color into your space by refacing just your island. This person used a bright blue which really pops against the white outer cabinets.
5. Interesting Kitchen Wall Colors or Textures
Not ready to change your kitchen cabinets? Consider changing your wall color or adding texture. Some people have opted for a durable wallpaper or a bold color; this person decided to go with a dark grey on the walls, accented with a dark grey countertop. This really makes the white cabinets pop giving the space a more modern look.
